The Highway 19 blockade in support of the Wet’suwet’en Hereditary Chiefs is definitely affecting Baynes Sound communities this morning. Highway 19A is very busy. Stay safe out there and be civil. The right to peacefully protest is core to our democracy.... there are protests happening across Canada this week on this issue. ... See MoreSee Less
Do you know where the blockade is?
This was an ILLEGAL blockade.
Were you supporting an illegal blockade of public infrastructure as a representative of the comox valley?!
Grants-in-aid applications are available to Area A non-profits with an end of February deadline. In 2019 we supported 15 projects and funds are limited. The Fallen Alders hall in Royston was able to redo their roof with our funding support. ... See MoreSee Less

So happy I recieved this as it's a family and dog go to spot! Now it needs a paint job to go with that lovely roof?

Can we have a new Rec Center on Hornby?
You are a work horse Daniel!
Theft and vandalism is so upsetting. Yesterday some thieves or vandals cut all the cables for the electric vehicles charging stations at the Buckley Bay rest stop. Apparently it is not the first time and not the only location where this happens. Of course there is other theft happening in our communities. If you have information regarding this or other crimes always contact the RCMP, or even slip me a note and I will pass it on! Thankfully the repair happened within 24 hours, as per this pic: ... Update: MOTI was missing a couple of cables, so those like me who have J1772 plug receptacles will have to wait a few weeks to charge again 😞 Hope they get caught.
This is sad I find so hard to understand why some people have to disrespect other people's property we all work so hard for what we have and someone with out a heart can came and destroy like nothing I hope one day we all can live with out fear that ours belongings will be disrespect 😔😔😔
Horrible. Glad it was fixed so promptly
Marissa Cotter I thought of you. Hopefully you've got another place to charge
Just cut them for the sake of cutting them? No parts stolen.. ie: for salvage?
So thankful for the CVRD Baynes Sound Advisory Planning Commission. This awesome volunteer group reviews land use applications large and small in Area A, and makes recommendations to the CVRD board. Diverse representation to help shape the future of our communities: Each community has a voice at the table, from Ships Point to Royston! If anyone is interested in joining it in the future - let me know... and if you see these folks in your community please thank them for their service ~ Chair Glenn Loxham, Union Bay. Secretary Karen Fouracre, Fanny Bay. Rebecca Kayfetz, Buckley Bay. Jane Stiney, Royston. Bill Trussler, Ships Point. Lindsay Clement is not pictured here... currently on leave, from Royston. ...
