Comox Valley Regional District Area A Director.

Daniel Arbour, was elected as Comox Valley Regional District Area A Director in 2018, and re-elected in 2022, representing Royston, Union Bay, Fanny Bay, Denman Island, and Hornby Island. Since 2024, Daniel also holds a position as Partnerships and Grants Specialist at the University of Victoria’s Pacific Institute for Climate Solutions, working remotely from the Comox Valley.

Prior to holding these roles, Daniel worked as an economic development officer on Hornby Island (2014-2018), and as a Program Manager at Ecotrust Canada (2007-2014) including securing a 5 years federally-funded sustainable forest management partnership with the Nuu-Chah-Nulth Nations (2007-2014).

Daniel holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Royal Roads University, and a certificate in Public Policy Analysis from the London School of Economics.

As Comox Valley Area A Director, Daniel has served on the following Boards and Committees:

  • Comox Valley Regional District Board
  • Past Chair, Regional Parks and Trails Commission (2023-2024)
  • Past Chair, Comox Valley Recreation Commisssion  (2019-2022)
  • Comox Valley Water Committee
  • Comox Strathcona Hospital District Board
  • Comox Strathcona Waste Management Board
  • Committee of the Whole (CVRD-wide shared services, such as Transit)
  • Electoral Areas Committee (Area A, B, and C… mostly parks, community services, planning, development, and Rural OCP)

In addition, Daniel has served on the following external Boards and Committees:
